Although some of you recognize that your partner is a good person, another part is filled with frustration. Their repeated behavior leaves you wondering if things will ever improve. This is starting to hurt various aspects of your life, making it difficult to concentrate on work. Building a healthy, long-lasting relationship filled with love requires intentional effort from both partners. Like working out, you won't become a bodybuilder after one session, and your relationship problems won't disappear after one counseling session. Consistent practice, effort, and energy are necessary to improve every day and make tomorrow better than today.

DOES your Relationship feel more Logistical than Loving?
Managing carpooling, paying bills, and cleaning the house can be time-consuming. Additionally, spending hours in the kitchen preparing meals or searching for food in the fridge can be frustrating, especially when nothing seems to be there. At times like these, you may be forced to choose between going to the grocery store or dining out. However, eating out can be costly, and you may already be starving.
As a busy parent, you juggle a lot of responsibilities. You help your kids with their homework, worry about their school and social lives, and try to maintain friendships while dealing with work stress. Sometimes it can be difficult to connect with your partner beyond discussing logistics, which can lead to conflicts about who is doing more and who is more stressed. It's important to take a step back and remember why you're together. If you feel like you're missing that connection, I'm here to offer support and suggestions, such as suggesting a date night to talk about ways to reconnect.
I may not be able to completely eliminate the business aspect in your relationship, but I can certainly help you communicate more effectively. My main goal is to equip you with better strategies to handle conflicts that stem from such issues. You'll be taught how to recognize when you're overwhelmed and need a break, how to express your needs in a healthy and constructive way, and how to understand that your partner may not always be able to meet them. We'll also focus on developing the ability to compromise and find solutions to disagreements, rather than constantly fighting to win. For these tools to be effective, it's important to increase positive experiences with your partner. We suggest daily conversations, date nights, sharing dreams, expressing gratitude, showing affection, and giving each other the benefit of the doubt.
In Couple's Counseling, the focus is not on criticizing or analyzing your relationship. Rather, my aim is to help you gain a better understanding of yourself and your own triggers. This involves managing your emotional responses through personal growth, and learning how to express your emotions rather than being controlled by them. The ultimate goal is for both partners to enhance their love for each other, leading to a happier day-to-day life and the ability to tackle challenges together instead of against each other. Communication and conflict resolution are common roadblocks for many couples, but we will provide you with strategies to prevent these issues from escalating. We are here to guide you in learning how to process and effectively communicate about conflicts.
It's understandable that couples may hesitate to seek counseling, but waiting too long can be detrimental to the relationship. It's tough to reconnect and communicate effectively after being stuck in a negative cycle for so long. It's important to remember that counseling isn't a last resort, and seeking support when things are going well can make a significant difference. By doing this, you'll be more receptive to the tools and tips provided by your counselor and better prepared to implement them when you and your partner feel close and connected.

The absolute best time to come into therapy is where you are doing well. You are in a positive space and willing to see ways that you can show up better. Once you are in negative sentiment, the work becomes more challenging and will require more overall time in the therapy room.
